Ladies Day

Ladies why not try something different - something that women really do excell at. Come to the beautiful Damerham Fisheries on one of our Ladies Only Days and let our qualified coaches introduce you to the graceful art of fly fishing.

Upon arrival at the newly-built fishing lodge you will take morning coffee with the other ladies and will be introduced to your coach for the day. The morning will be spent on the banks of the gin-clear Mayfly Lake where you will learn the following:

• How the rod works and aspects of safety.
• How to roll cast and overhead cast.
• How to match the hatch with the flies in your box.
• How to tie knots.
• How to catch, play and land a trout.

At about 12.30, after all your efforts, you will retire to the newly constructed lodge where drinks will be served whilst the resident chef adds the finishing touches to a lunch that will compliment the day. After lunch coffee will be served on the veranda that overlooks the delightfull Hollyhead lake with its colourful water birds.

For the afternoon session you will accompany your coach back to Mayfly lake where he or she will help you to catch some of the stunning trout that abound in its water - you might even catch one of the famous Damerham Blues, a colour variation of the rainbow trout that are reared on our own fish farm.

The day will come to a close over tea at the lodge when you will be presented with a certificate with which to remember your day together with a brace of fish for you to take home.
